Drought Damage

After a long hot dry summer most of our lawns have suffered some sort of drought damage. Fall is the perfect time to repair your lawn. Anytime before the end of September you can plant grass seed and have enough time for it to germinate. After the end of September, wait until after a killing frost then you can plant and the seed will germinate in the spring.

Either way here is what you need to do.

-Rake or dethatch lawn

-Loosen at least ½” of soil

-Put down starter fertilizer

-Apply seed

-Water if you plant before the end of September

Fall is also a good time to aerate your lawn. You can also apply seed after aeration.
